IBFB-IICCI MOU Signing Ceremony

Mr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, President of IBFB said in his welcome remarks that, in order to establish a strapping trade relation between Bangladesh and India IBFB will work closely with IICCI. He anticipated that the joint effort of IBFB and IICCI will able to mitigate the trade bottlenecks exists at present including the tariff and non tariff barriers. IBFB carried out nearly 30 research and advocacy works in last 12 years on different crosscutting business and economic issues like One Stop Service Act, Overseas Investment by Bangladeshi Entrepreneurs, Shipbuilding Industry, City governance, Complexities in Income Tax Laws and its simplification etc. Mr. Khan remarked that IBFB exchanged several business delegations in different countries like Bhutan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, USA, Korea etc. to explore business opportunities and enhance bilateral business relationships. IBFB Chief finally opined that, the MOU of IBFB and IICCI will help to promote the equitable trade relation between the countries.

Mr. A.K Saxena, President of IICCI mentioned in his speech that, MOU trade between IBFB and IICCI is another milestone in the Bangladesh-India trade relation. He opined that, the MOU between this prominent trade bodies will help to enhance the relationship between the traders and contribute to the improvement of bi-lateral trade.  

 

Mr. Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury, the Founding President IBFB expressed that the bilateral relationship between India and Bangladesh have reached to beyond the expectation in present days. He specified that, India exports to Bangladesh more than 250 items, whereas Bangladesh is exporting only six to seven items including jute, jute goods and readymade garments. He requested the IICCI to work together to minimize trade deficits, reduce non-tariff barriers, and enhance bilateral trade relationship between the Bangladesh and India for attaining the next level of excellence.
