IBFB envisages new business opportunity with Korea

International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) sees huge potentiality of new business opportunity with Korea to be come out in very near future. At present many large and established Korean companies have taken initiatives to expand and also relocate their businesses in different countries of the world including south Asia. Many Korean companies are giving top-most priority to Bangladesh for expanding their businesses as well as relocating their high-tech industry machineries and technologies.

An 8-member business delegation from IBFB headed by Mr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, President of IBFB recently visited the Republic of Korea (South Korea) from 23 – 28 November 2015. The delegation attended an international trade exhibition on Korean Machineries jointly hosted by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy and Korea Association of Machinery Industry and organized by Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held on 25 November 2015 in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do of Korea. The delegation has had fruitful meetings there with Mr. Jung Sik Cho, Member of Parliament of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Jaehong Kim, President & CEO of KOTRA, Mr. Y. U. Tak, CEO of Korea Machinery Auction & Exchange (KOMAX)and Mr. Hong-Joong Kim, Team Manager of KOMAX etc. The delegation also has had several business to business meetings with high officials of different Korean companies in Incheon city of Korea. In these meetings, interest was shown on business expansion, relocating businesses and high-tech industry machineries and technologies of Korean companies in Bangladesh, joint venture investment and exporting Korean machineries etc. by the representatives of the Korean Govt. and different business associations and companies from Korea.

It should be noted that, the main purpose of IBFB’s business tour to Korea was to explore opportunities and potentialities of enhancing bilateral trade and joint venture investment through appropriate private channels between Korea and Bangladesh. The delegation returned back to Dhaka on 29th Nov 2015 after having a successful business trip and unveiling huge potentialities of rapid industrialization for Bangladesh and enhancing bilateral trade between Korea and Bangladesh.
